Bring Summer Indoors with Target

It’s been a minute since I shared a blog post. Maybe it’s the sunshine that’s been sticking around, or the new projects that are calling my name, but I am feeling motivated to do and share more these days! As you have seen, content creation is a nonstop job and it has its ups and downs.

The win that I am taking with me this week is that Target wanted to work with me! I mean, it only took me shopping there every week for the past 15 years to make it happen! If you are an avid Target shopper, then you know what I mean when I say it is a scary place to shop. And I mean that in the most loving way. Somehow, I always end up with a basket, a dress, and shampoo that I did not go in there for. This time around, I got to pick out some new items from some of Target’s latest collaboratives and it was all in the fun of sharing with you guys! Dream actualized.

One of my very favorite places to style in my home is my entryway. I have the black, floating table to change up and the bench to style up with pillows and usually some kind of catch-all (bowl, basket, tray). I always have fun arranging the hooks with different knick-knacks and I suppose the obvious use of them comes in handy daily- the constant pile of backpacks, coats, and purses get purposefully hidden from my feed.

Black table : On this table I tend to include some kind of vase or pottery. The reason for this is because even if it is not filled with greenery or flowers, it adds height and statement to the first view when walking into my home. These two pots from Target are the perfect look in any space because of their neutral color and organic aesthetic. I also love styling two together, you know, the more the merrier.

I also typically include a candle on this table because the ambiance it creates is an instant sense of cozy. Which is exactly what I want people to feel when they come into our home. Not to mention a scented candle to add a welcoming aroma. This ceramic candle is the perfect touch of summer with the coconut and sea salt fragrance. I also love the jar because once that candle is melted through you can reuse the pottery as a decorative item!

Bench: The bench is a staple in any entryway large enough to hold seating. It makes it easier for guests and family members to put on their shoes or set heavier items on when entering the home. The addition of pillows just adds that comfort and sign of, “sit here.” This large, textured pillow is speaking summer vibes to me with the color and woven cover. I have paired it with this patterned pillow to add some depth, color, and again that textural interest. Just look at those tassels!

If you have started to think about the upcoming season and are dreaming of summer days – then start by decorating your home for it! You don’t have to wait till June, 21st to start summer in your home. The little additions can emulate the longer days and increasing temperatures.
